This year, I’ve been particularly captured by the building up and tearing down of the Tappan Zee Bridge. A benefit cruise held by Groundworks* took us under the bridge, where you could see both the old and new structures and the lines drawn by the new cables and supports.
I saw similar elements in NYC, with the ubiquitous construction, and the layers of striking lines and reflections of buildings already built. Close up, the images become abstract.
Then, into the woods, where I find a mystery in the lines and layers that completely draws me in. Sometimes bold forms, sometimes muted.
