Susan Rowe Harrison
I make drawings and site-specific installations for private, commercial, and alternative settings. I prefer to work in the architecture of the everyday—on the walls, windows, and doors that often go unnoticed or ignored until I leave abstract traces in an explosion of color, natural light or, text. My work is as likely to include a message as not. But when I do choose to include a message—about issues such global warming and bird-friendly design, immigrant communities, or simply, how to be a person in the world—they are often but not always verbal.
